Feautred in Confetti Magazine - A Zelda Inspired Wedding

I'm so happy that we are featured again on Confetti Magazine here: A Legend of Zelda! This wedding is a little more unique than the others I have submitted, in that it steers away from the typical classic glam or rustic vibe and more of a quirky, nerdy one (which I loooove)! The theme of today’s wedding feature was largely based on the couple’s mutual love of movies and video games, with a touch of tradition. A gorgeous venue, handmade triforce, a life sized inflatable dinosaur, rupees used as gift notes, and a beautiful cape wedding dress – we are starry-eyed with the brilliance of Susan and Derek’s magical wedding at Riverway Clubhouse in Burnaby, BC.

As guests entered through the front doors, they were greeted with the sun’s delicate rays through sheer floor to ceiling white backdrop from the back wall. Paper rupees were placed on each seat for guests to write notes for the newly married couple that were then dropped off in a treasure chest on the way out. We placed stuffed cartoon characters around on tables and chairs for a pop of colour and used leftover greenery wherever we felt needed some extra life. Even the bags to hold the groomsmaid/bridesmaid gifts were the sacks you see in the Zelda games! Everyone was so excited to see these small reminders of their childhoodN64 and gameboy days.

The wedding entourage walked down to Lord of The Ring’s Bag End and Susan walked down to Zelda’s Ballad of the Goddess. The couple had also arranged for the photographers to set up a live streaming of the ceremony so that guests were able to witness the ceremony from their homes safely from a distance.

It was a very enjoyable day and I loved every minute of it. Susan’s mother peacefully passed away shortly after the wedding and we are so glad she was able to join us all in the wonderful celebration of her daughter’s marriage.
